El béisbol ensayo

By choosing Puerto Rican Baseball for my culture project, I learned little facts that led me to something I know very dear. I chose this project souly based on the fact that I play softball. It has played a major role in my life and it will always be a catharsis to me. In 2008, my softball team was in Disney for a national tournament when I notice across the field from where we were play were guys, and not just any guys, it was a game between Puerto Rico and California. This had sparked an intrest in me because only two days after our tournament my family and I would be boarding a cruise and the first stop was indeed Puerto Rico. The teamwork the boys portrayed was one of sheer excellence. They obtained diving catche, great double plays, ad even greater hits while at bat. This inspired me not only in my game for the rest of the tournaent, but even for this cultural project. I learned of many famous Hall of Famers in Puerto Rico, but three caught my eye. Carlos Santiago, Emilio Navarro, and Bob Thurman were individuals that worked for their success. These men rose about all odds in every different situation and portrayed an heir that generations would look up to. Not only have these men set a reputaion of inspiration, but they have single handily set a goal for future players to come. This project has shown me the evolution that baseball has made and what all had to happen to make it possible. Even though I play softball, If you asked me "what rounders was"  I would most likely look at you like your stupid and say "huh". Not only now do I understand the meaning behind the word rounders, but I now understand a meaning into my own sport. From Rounders to Baseball, and then onto the creation of softball, all in all I have learned about a sport that I thougt I had known very well.
